Over at Last

Woke up and went back to work today. The end of the year was much like most other days for me: juggling kids and programming. We did have schoolwork today, even though the kids thought it should be a holiday. They settled down and did fine after a little whining.

Most of my day went for writing code, trying to clean up a mess on one project and move forward on a couple of others. Made decent progress, though some of the mess is still there. After dinner I quit working and spent a while with my bookkeeping. December turned out to be much the best month this year, as I already knew. I hope that continues into the new year.

Dana had a bunch of Chunjido people over for a party tonight. I ended up retreating upstairs for some peace and quiet, and then Lindsey, who was already overtired, woke up screaming from a nap. I had to bring her into our bed to calm her down, and with the lights off, I was asleep pretty quickly. So I didn’t make it to midnight, and 2009 ended without my participation. Just as well, on the whole it was a lousy year.
