Memorial Day
We took the day off of school for the holiday, and I chatted with the kids a little bit about why we have Memorial Day. Then it was off to work for me; in theory, this should have been a quiet day prepping for the rest of the week, but in practice it was a busy one, peppered with client and dev phone calls.
Made good progress on a couple of projects (and less so on a couple of others) over the course of the day. I also helped set up a new little pool for the kids (a bit bigger than the average wading pool, and they seem to have enjoyed it) and fired up the grill for Dana to do burgers on. The latter didn’t work out so well as the evening thunderstorm arrived at pretty much the same time as hot coals; she finally gave up and finished the burgers indoors.
In the evening I set aside work and spent a few hours on billing. It wasn’t the best month ever, but it wasn’t the worst either, and we’re doing OK as we move into the summer.
