Art and Glasses
Today was Dana’s birthday, so we started with hugs, celebrations, and presents. After that, she took the kids out to IHOP for their share of birthday food, and I buckled down to work. Spent the morning catching up on email and writing code, and made some progress, though troublesome project is still troublesome.
In the afternoon, I took Kayla off to her first art class. The subject is acrylic painting, and I was frankly disappointed in the quality of instruction, but she had fun. After we got out of there we went back to the optometrist and picked up my new glasses. They’re my first pair of progressive focus lenses, and I’m not at all sure that I’ll be able to adapt to them.
Back home from that, I took over kid wrangling as Dana headed out for karate (and then an evening out with karate friends). I made burgers and fries for dinner, which met with general approval. The kids played till bedtime; I took a break to read to them from Oz and then worked on till 11 or so.
