Code
Kept on cranking through code today. The major problem was to track down a large performance issue in searching a big Postgres database; after much pain (and far too much work) it proved that the code we were using to do the querying was just wrong. I rewrote it and life was much better, but the net result was to lose two days out of a schedule that was already struggling.
After lunch I took the kids out shopping for birthday presents for Dana. They were all well-behaved, though getting in and out of the truck in the hot sun got wearing after a while. Fortunately we managed with only three stops.
DInner tonight was spaghetti and meat sauce, along with some salad and fruit.
After dinner I plowed on through code till bedtime, then came back and answered email for a while after the kids were down.
