Still alive

Yes, I’m still alive. But things haven’t eased up at all on the work front – it’s still a whirlwind of mostly coding all day every day. At the moment it looks like the current schedule and pressure will last for about another six weeks, which should be tiring but well-paid.

Meanwhile, schoolwork continues with the kids in the mornings. Today was fairly typical: reading and math for Lindsey (she’s on a strong first grade level now), reading and math and spelling and history (currently reading a teen version of the Iliad) for Thomas, history and spelling and math and science for Kayla and Adam, with some Webelos activity badge work thrown in for Adam. It’s not a crushing schedule for any of us, and they all still seem to be learning.

Dana and Kayla had their first Girl Scout troop meeting of the day today. Meanwhile I was on a 90-minute marketing phone call.

Dana bounced home long enough to get a bite to eat and then headed out for another scouting function and karate. I fed the kids Kid Cuisine dinners (which are abominable, but they think they’re a treat) and slogged on through the code until bedtime, at which point I called it a night myself.
