Skating
Today started out with the usual flurry of email followed by schoolwork. We spent some time during school on a new subject: PE. Adam is working on his Athletics activity badge for Webelos, and so needs to get doing some daily exercise, and the other kids thought it was a lark to participate too. We’ll see if this lasts.
Lunchtime I took Lindsey off to her tumbling class, where she had a good time as usual. Then we stopped at Walmart on the way home for some socks and things, and had a late lunch together when we got back.
Early dinner of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and corn, and then it was off to the evening’s main event: Cub Scout ice skating at the local rink. We got a surprisingly good turnout from the pack, and many of them were pretty good skaters. This did not describe our family, but the four kids and I gamely took to the ice while Dana took movies. We did OK – Lindsey and Kayla found their legs by the end of the evening, Adam and Thomas continued working at it and were also doing much better at the end of things. I survived, which is about all I aspired to do.
We got back home for a late bedtime. After getting the kids tucked in I deployed code on one application and then called it a night.
