Busy Weekend
It was a busy busy weekend for us – a few outings surrounded by lots of code writing. Somehow things just don’t seem to be slowing down, which I guess is good, but is certainly tiring.
Saturday afternoon I took Thomas out for his first serious eye doctor’s appointment. He’s been having trouble with distance vision for a bit, and sure enough he’s nearsighted just like his dad and sister. So he got to pick out his own frames (choosing a yellow and black tortoiseshell pattern) and we’ll go back in a week to pick up the lenses.
When we got home, the whole family piled into the minivan and headed out again. This time it was off to the Y for a session in their pool, working with Adam on his Aquanaut badge for Webelos. His swimming is certainly improving, and Thomas and Lindsey did fine as well (Lindsey is fearless about the water, and handles herself well). Kayla, alas, is still in her cast and had to sit the pool time out with a book, but afterwards we all went out to Golden Corral for dinner which she enjoyed (as did the rest of the kids; not so much there for me to eat but I survived).
Sunday afternoon Adam and I were off again, this time to our cubmaster’s house to work on his Arrow of Light plaque. That done, it was back home again for an afternoon of writing code for me, followed by making meat loaf (everyone’s favorite) for dinner.
Client calls late in the evening left me worn out, and I quit working not long after kids were in bed.
