Party Time
For some reason Lindsey decided that I needed to be up at 5:15 this morning. This would have been fine if I needed to meet deadlines, but on a potentially lazy Sunday I was less keen on the idea. I used the extra hour to go into Second Life and build some party favors for tonight’s party.
Thomas showed up at my desk after he’d had breakfast and asked me “Daddy, learn me how to read some more” so we had another phonics lesson. So far, at least, he’s a motivated student, even if he doesn’t want to follow exactly the way the book thinks he should learn. Adam and Kayla didn’t either.
I spent a chunk of time fixing bugs in Rails code today. Round about 3PM we opened up our sim for another of our monthly parties in Second Life, and with a break for dinner (beef and noodles, fruit, stir-fried veggies), we kept going until it was bedtime for kids. Attendance was down a bit – Sunday night may not be the best time for these – but we had fun.
After the party was over, we organized the whole family for a half-hour whirlwind of straightening the house, then had story time and bedtime all around.
