Sick Kid

Got up – on my own, for a small change – around 6AM, and was joined by Lindsey and Thomas around 7. Kayla wandered down a bit later, uncharacteristically late for her. She explained, “Since I was too busy with my dream, I couldn’t be the first one awake besides you.”

I spent a lot of my morning messing with Firefox 3, while the rain came down; the first real rain since we’ve arrived here. Fortunately the house appears to be watertight. Then I moved on into coding, and tried to concentrate on getting things done for a client.

This got interrupted around lunchtime, when Kayla got spectacularly sick: suddenly lethargic, spiked a fever, and lost her lunch. We got some Motrin into her and she had a bath and rested in front of the TV, and felt better in a few hours, but it certainly disrupted a bit of the day.

I started a beef stew in the crockpot, but I started it too late, and we ended up with pizza, salad, and garlic bread for dinner. The stew will freeze for another day.
