Sick Day
I don’t take sick days. I took one today. Whatever the kids have, I’ve got it too – general malaise, sore throat, low-grade fever. It’s not serious enough to be actual flu, but I had trouble concentrating and didn’t try to do any actual work today.
After getting out of bed long enough to send an e-mail cancelling my 8AM conference call and another one telling people I wasn’t going to be reading e-mail today, I slept until Thomas woke up. Then I mostly just tried to cope. I read some, browsed the Web, tried to keep up with enough online news to write tomorrow’s Larkware (have to have something to wrap the paid ads around), and relaxed in the bath. That was about it.
I did manage a bit of light Rails programming, though it wasn’t a lot of forward progress. But at least it was something.
Dana made dinner – pancakes and scrambled eggs. This was low stress with all of the kids. Even Lindsey can polish off three pancakes now.
Crawled back into bed as soon as the kid were asleep.
