Back to Work Day
Thomas decided it was time to get up around 7:30, which is relatively late around here. He came bounding up the stairs and woke Lindsey and I up. Fortunately I was feeling a bit better and after arranging breakfasts was able to get back to some sort of work, catching up on e-mail and putting in a reasonably solid billable day.
I also got outside to get the mail and feed the horse for the first time in a couple of days. Fortunately it’s pretty springlike and there’s plenty of grass in the pasture.
We had an early dinner of hot dogs, beans, and macaroni and cheese. Lindsey likes hot dogs. Then Dana took the older 3 kids out for an evening crafts class and dessert while I stayed home to rest with Lindsey.
I managed to get the basic algorithm of my next Rails app working, which was a big step – not so much figuring it out, as figuring out how to translate it into Ruby. Things are starting to click for me. Hopefully this is a sign that there really is a career here.
