Back to School
Lindsey got up early with me, and scattered another cupcake around for her breakfast. Most of it went into her. She certainly didn’t let any of the frosting get away.
Outside of the baby (besides crumbs) there were way too many e-mail messages and meeting requests to deal with. Of all the ironies, my day started with a 45-minute meeting to discuss meeting times. Then after that it was right into the weekly team meeting. These are the times that I regret being part of management.
We got back to homeschooling today after a longish break (between sickness, holiday, and Lindsey’s birthday). Kayla learned about elephants, and continues to improve her reading by leaps and bounds. Adam moved on to 1066 and all that, and we also looked at some video from the ISS and talked about space stations.
It was also time for Kayla’s dance class again, so she and I had a fun time driving there and back. While she was dancing I took a quick trip to the grocery store and read up on Ruby programming.
Back home, I fed Adam and Thomas Hot Pockets and fruit (Kayla was on dinner strike again) and Lindsey nibbled this and that. Dana and I had our weekly adult dinner later: turkey cutlets, risotto with shrimp, chard, salad. I also answered e-mail and worked a bit late trying to get my ducks in a row for tomorrow morning’s conference call.
