Shopping Day Again

Got up at 6:30, which gave me time to answer a bunch of e-mail before I had to hop on the phone for a conference call with our Bulgarian clients and then a long chat with my boss. The flip side to setting my own hours is that sometimes I have to work some pretty absurd hours in order to have time to myself.

After that, though, I clocked out and refused to talk on IM so I could be with my own family for a while. Kayla was, not surprisingly, hungry, so she ate a good breakfast. After that we did some more reading and studied more about elephants together. When everyone was fed and studied for the morning, we piled the family into the minivan and headed on into Colfax.

Today’s errands included banking, grocery shopping, and refilling my Topamax prescription. The kids were all well-behaved in the grocery store, resulting in treats all around and compliments from the checkout staff.

What was left of the afternoon went for reading more mind-numbing Microsoft documentation (the current project is making me more convinced that ever that I want to get away from the Microsoft way of doing things) and answering e-mail. For dinner, we had turkey & noodle casserole, corn, and salad with tiny shrimp on top.
